Opening Exhibition: The Not So Common Thread
New art exhibit The Not So Common Thread features Bedford’s local artists Mari-Pat Beene, Jen Judd, Nancy Hershberger and Shana Andrews. The Not So Common Thread can be seen in the Ashe and Regional Galleries, located on the second level of the historic Anderson House. Each artist brings their unique gifts in different art mediums. Jen Judd is a self-taught abstractionist. Her abstract works are colorful, moody spaces with depth and complexity. Shana Andrews is a photographer with a sharp eye that captures the detail of her subjects. A master quilter, Nancy Hershberger translates her visual world into fabric. Her level of mastery with thread and fabric is stunning. “The Triple Threat” Mari-Pat Beene is a ceramicist, digital media artist and painter. Her work with clay ranges from artisan pottery to sculptural whimsy. Opening Night reception for an opportunity to meet the artists and attend the Artist Lecture at 5:30 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. Nov. 13. Admission is charged. Appetizers and beverages will be served.
