Somerset Historical Center traveling exhibit
Hosted by the Historical & Genealogical Society of Somerset County in partnership with the Turkeyfoot Valley Historical Society, the We Can Do It! WWII Heinz History Center traveling exhibition will visit the Somerset Historical Center during regular operating hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, and 12 to 5 p.m. Sunday. The We Can Do It! WWII traveling exhibit explores Western Pennsylvania’s incredible impact on the home, industrial, and battle fronts during World War II. Visitors to the exhibit will learn about the development of the jeep, a uniquely American invention produced by the American Bantam Car Company in Butler, and hear the stories behind Rosie the Riveter and the local Tuskegee Airmen whose contributions helped to turn the tide of the war. The exhibit is sponsored by Erie Insurance, The Institute of Museum and Library Services, The Eberly Foundation, and Somerset Trust Co.
